Not many people know that they aren’t limited to learning while they’re awake. It’s a much speculated on but not very common known fact that you can learn while you sleep. There are lots of ways in which you can get this done, but the easiest is to listen to audio recordings while your subconscious mind is completely aware of what’s going on.
Many times, our conscious mind tends to block things out. It may sound strange, but you may hear your friends make comments along the lines of “my brain is full.” They aren’t kidding. When your conscious mind is involved, the learning process ends at some point.
You can learn just about anything while you’re asleep with the use of audio stimulation and repetition, simply by playing a CD or MP3 file. You can learn new languages; self help techniques, relaxation, wellness and much more while your subconscious mind is open to information as you sleep. The list is only limited by your conscious mind. Anything and everything is perfectly possible. So don’t hold yourself back from any idea that crosses your mind.
Psychologist Charles R. Elliott from the University of North Carolina completed a two year study of Mike Sherover’s cerebograph which was a combination record player, pillow microphone and electric clock which he invented after helping his son learn a poem for school, in his sleep.
The UNC Psychologist ran a study on 40 students, all of them learned successfully, in their sleep. This was a huge leap towards bringing the whole theory of learning while you sleep to the forefront of technology. When we spend one third of our lives asleep, why wouldn’t it make sense that learning while we sleep would actually increase our lifetime? It may not actually add to your longevity, but it makes the most out of your brains ability to learn.
