The Indian flag or banner is one of my favorite international or country flags out there. It flies really nicely from flag poles and other similar objects. Like other national flags the national banner of India has a very unique history.

Especially in Europe, many tricolor flags are flown as national or international flags. Belgium, France and Germany fly tricolor type banners, either displaying horizontal or vertical bands. The flag of India is also a tricolor flag displaying the colors green (top), white and saffron, which is a tone of golden yellow.

The national Indian flag was first adopted officially and displayed during the 1940-s. Ever since this time period it has been displayed (proudly) from all kinds of flag poles throughout the country of India as well as the rest of the world. Interestingly, and like other national flags, its design was based on another flag or banner that already was in existence, namely the flag that represented the Indian National Congress.

Most banners and flags for use with a commercial or residential flagpole or so are manufactured from quality materials such as nylon and polyester. The national flag of India is made from a special type of hand spun cotton or silk, which was first made popular by renowned Mahatma Ghandi.

Interestingly, the design as well as the production process of the national flag of India is governed by the 3 documents, issued by the Bureau of Indian Standards or commonly referred to as BIS. All banners for use with flag poles and such are produced from “khadi” cloth of silk or cotton. These standards were first created back in 1968 and last optimized in 2008.

India, like other countries in the world, maintains a Flag Code. For example, the Indian flag should be flown from a flagpole at half-mast as a manifestation of mourning. The final decision to do so lies with the country’s President, who also decides the period of such mourning. When the flag is to be flown from a flag pole at half mast, it must first be raised to the top of the flagpole and then slowly lowered. Only the Indian flag is flown half mast during times of national mourning whereas other regional and national flags remain at normal height.

The national flag of the country of Iceland is one banner or flag that has been displayed from buildings of all kinds, but also including residential flagpoles, for at least 6 decades. Perhaps one of the younger flags in the world, it is described officially by law ever since Iceland became an independent republic during the 1940-s.

Interestingly, the first Iceland flag flown from a commercial or residential flagpole was a flag that displayed a white cross on a blue colored field. It was first displayed from flag poles and other objects during the final years of the 19th century.

During the second decade of the 20th century, a red colored cross was added or better said inserted into the white cross of the first flag. A few years following this “event,” in 1944, the flag became the official national flag of Iceland, the same year during which it was recognized as a separate nation or independent from Denmark.

Ever since, commercial and residential flag poles and such have displayed a red cross within a white one, on top of blue colored background or field. The colors are said to represent or stand symbolic for the Icelandic environment, which include the rough landscape and surrounding Atlantic Ocean. In fact, red is said to represent the fire from the island’s volcanoes, white the snow and ice and blue the water of the Atlantic Ocean that surrounds the country on all sides.

Like the United States of America, Iceland also knows and celebrates “flag days.” Icelandic flag law includes a law that specifies nationally sanctioned flag days. On these specific days, the national flag is to be flown from residential and commercial flag poles around official buildings, and those under rule of special officials and such of the state. Additions at times are made and are determined by the office of the Prime Minister. Interestingly, the flag of Iceland is drawn at half-mast of Good Friday. Flags days also include: the birthday of the President of Iceland, Easter, Pentecost and Christmas day.

Many people who own a garden also own pets. This should not be a problem and is often a massive benefit. Dogs often like to run around and play in a garden, while cats often enjoy independently moving between gardens. Whatever pet you own you want to make sure your garden is safe for them to enjoy. This is why it is vital to find a pet safe fertilizer.

It can often be a difficult balance to achieve. In one respect you want to have a healthy looking garden that will be the admiration of the neighbourhood. However it is very important to be careful when choosing the right type of fertilizer for your own individual needs. Before going to the garden centre you should check the balance of your soil and see what nutrients your soil needs.

You also need to be wary of the potentially harmful contents, especially with commercial chemical based fertilizers. Inert chemicals such as chloroform can be harmful to pets. This is why it is vital to check the ingredients before purchasing a fertilizer.

If you are still unsure you should check the certification. It should be certified by a veterinarian or by the EPA. This is a check of quality to assure you that the ingredients are safe for your pets and that it is safe to use on the garden.

The best type of ingredients for your pet safe fertilizer are natural. Examples of this include plant material such as kelp and animal material such as fish emulsion. In some cases the two are blended together to get the best amount of nutrients from the mix of ingredients.

Kelp is an effective example of a plant fertilizer. You can use it in a pellet, liquid or powder form. It adds micronutrients, vitamins and growth hormones to the soil. This increases yields, reduces drought stress and increases plant tolerance to frost. Fish emulsion made from the fermented remains of fish is a useful way of adding trace elements of soil.

In short, the ideal way of keeping your garden healthy and protecting your pets is using natural ingredients. It is worth checking online for product reviews of pet safe fertilizer. Demonstration videos will also help show you the most practical ways of applying and getting the most from your garden.

Wondering what type of pet safe fertilizer is the best on the market? Get the low down now in our online overview of organic fertilizer .

Scrutinize your training plan. It may be feasible to get some dog training services for no cost from volunteers depending upon where you live. There are also the more costly services, which can run as high as $100 or more per hour-long training session. The charges will vary depending upon the trainer\’s skill, your location and the type and duration of the program. Group plans are apt to be less pricey than personal plans.

Dog training will take time, persistence and energy. But there is no way to escape doing it and still have a well-mannered and happy dog. If you can\’t do it yourself you should probably go ahead and take on a professional, but do be aware that that option will end up costing you quite a bit more money.

Training your dog will lead to a healthier, happier pet and a more gratifying bond with your puppy. Your puppy will know how to behave and you will also know how you can control the conduct of your dog as well. Your dog will be safer and more contented and so will you.

For you to keep your dog\’s attention you can do things that he appreciates but you must also reward him for small successes. Do not proffer a food reward every time, however, because sporadic reinforcement is actually much more helpful than constant reinforcement because he never knows when he will get the treat so he will keep doing the behavior on the hope that he will get the food reward. Also too many food treats can be bad for your dog\’s health and weight. However, love and attention should be always given.

Right now is a excellent time to be an aspiring dog trainer because of all of the wonderful online resources offered on the Internet. There is certainly content offered on every facet of dog training and there is also some great information about how to best go about the process of really training your dog yourself. A lot of these online dog-training courses can be downloaded simply to your own computer.

When you first begin training you can use visual cues, treats and rewards and other tools, but in time your dog should be able to respond as you need with just the sound of your voice. Be constant with all of your voice commands so that your dog is never mystified about what you want.

A large number of times there are still problems because your dog doesn\’t seem to cooperate and you can\’t comprehend just what the dog is trying to tell you and your dog cannot fathom exactly what it is that you desire. At this point you may be tempted to bring in an a professional dog trainer but pro dog trainers can be very costly. Luckily, with just a minor bit of guidance and knowledge you can turn out to be the greatest trainer for your own dog.

Summer is the perfect time of year to get the backyard BBQ season started. Many people wait all year long just for the chance to grill their favorite foods over an open flame and gather family and friends together to enjoy great food and the wonderful, sunny weather. With just a few helpful tips, you can turn your next backyard BBQ into the event of the year.

Probably not the most enjoyable part of the BBQ planning process, although a very necessary consideration, is bug control. With a few simple tricks you can help prevent your backyard BBQ from turning into a bug bonanza. If you have an outdoor covered area, this is the best place to set out any food items, keeping them covered as much as possible with plastic wrap or protective lids. You may also want to invest in a few repellent candles or torches; these can really be quite effective for keeping mosquitoes at bay.

When most of us think BBQs, it’s most likely that grilling meats and savory side dishes are the first things to come to mind. However, don’t forget about planning your drink menu; your guests will be sure to appreciate your careful planning in this area.

Make sure you have a wide variety of options, including both alcoholic and non-alcoholic choices. Wine and beer are always standard; step your BBQ up a notch and offer several choices so that all of your guests will find what they like. You may even want to consider whipping up a batch of frozen cocktails such as margaritas or daiquiris. Throw in some seasonal fresh fruit and you will surely become the hit of the party.

Deciding what to grill for the main course should not be a complicated decision; keeping it simple makes things easier for everyone. Hamburgers and hot dogs usually get the job done; if you are itching for more of a variety consider marinating some chicken breasts or grilling up some delicious beef and vegetable kebabs. Whatever you decide on will surely turn out tasty and flavorful, one of the beautiful things about BBQ’ing is that food just tastes better grilled over an open flame and it’s pretty difficult to mess it up.

As your guests begin to arrive and settle in, make sure to have plenty of snacks available for munching and accompanying that first round of drinks. These in no way need to be anything fancy, in fact a few bowls of chips or pretzels and maybe even a fresh vegetable tray with dip will do the trick. Another BBQ favorite that you might want to consider adding to the spread is sliced watermelon. There is nothing that says summer more than a big juicy bite of perfectly ripe watermelon.

Lastly, no barbecue would be complete without all the tasty traditional side dishes such as baked beans, macaroni and potato salad. You can even suggest that each guest bring their favorite selection to share with the rest of the party.

With a little bit of planning and preparation, you can be sure that your backyard BBQ will be the event of the season. Make the most out of the summer and get started planning your own gathering today.

Byron Jonas invariably uses shade canopies for his frontyard barbecues. There is nothing like instant marquees to take the burn out of the Australian sun.

If you’re a new gardener you might think that shade growing is an uphill battle. I’m here to tell you that shade gardens can be a beautiful, lush, peaceful addition to your landscape. As someone who has been gardening in the shade of huge trees for more than 20 years, I know that shade growing is entirely possible. With some careful planning and patience you can create a shade garden to be proud of.

Look for plant recommendations for shade growing trees, shrubs, perennials, annuals, and bulbs. You’ll be amazing at the selection of plants that thrive in the shade.

Having chosen the best shade growing plants for your garden, next give some thought as to where the plants are going to live. Few plants can survive in complete shade. Plants need a certain amount of light, combined with good soil, good drainage, and sufficient water to thrive.

Now let’s talk about the soil that your shade growing plants will live in. For best results, make sure there a good mixture of organic compost and mulch in the soil. To check to see how the soil drains, dig a hole and fill it with water then come back in a couple of hours to see if the water has drained. If not, you will need to mix sand into the soil to help with drainage.

In addition to the soil, the shade and roots of any surrounding trees will need to be looked at. Your plants will be competing for food and water with the trees, so regular feeding and watering is required so the plants aren’t too depleted for nutrients.

Speaking of trees, if the trees doing the shading are evergreen conifers, the soil tends to be acidic (low ph). So have the soil tested and adjust the soil ph accordingly for what you plan to grow (adding dolomite lime will raise the ph).

Are you wondering where all that shade is coming from? Buildings and walls can create just as much shade as big trees. If you choose the right shade growing plants, shade from a building or wall will actually be a help to your plants. Think about how buildings and walls affect your garden: if your garden is in the front of a north-facing wall it will be in shade most of the day, plus the garden will be exposed to the elements like the prevailing winds and frost come fall and winter.

What you need to do is look at where your house is placed on your property, and how that affects where the sun is at various times of the year. For instance, where the sun is in the morning isn’t going to the same in the evening, especially the later in the season it is.

The critical things to remember in growing a shade garden are plant selection, the degree of shade you are dealing with (light, medium or dense), good soil, drainage and water. I encourage you to try a shade garden. You’ll love it!
